    About ABA Therapy

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is a scientific approach to understanding and modifying behavior. It is widely used to help individuals with autism improve specific behaviors, such as social skills, communication, reading, and academics, as well as adaptive learning skills like fine motor dexterity, hygiene, grooming, domestic capabilities, punctuality, and job competence.

    Key Principles of ABA Therapy

    ☆ Individualized Assessment

A comprehensive evaluation of the individual’s skills and behaviors to create a customized therapy plan. Identification of strengths, challenges, and specific goals.

    ☆ Behavioral Interventions

Use of evidence-based techniques to encourage desirable behaviors and reduce unwanted ones. Methods include positive reinforcement, prompting, and shaping.

    ☆ Skill Building

Focus on teaching new skills and enhancing existing ones.

Areas targeted often include communication, social interaction, academic skills, and daily living activities.

    ☆ Parental Involvement

Training and involving parents in the therapy process to ensure consistency and support at home.

Strategies and techniques taught to parents to reinforce learning outside of therapy sessions.
